RedDot Solutions Secures Second Round of Funding
19 Dec 2002
New York, NY - RedDot Solutions, (http://www.reddot.com/), a leading provider of enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, announced today that it has secured a second round of funding from ViewPoint Capital Partners (Frankfurt) and 3i, (a previous investor). The funding will be used to support the company's continued market expansion and product development.
"We were very pleased to receive such positive feedback from the venture capital investors," said Niels Metger, CEO of RedDot Solutions. "We had the good fortune to have been courted by several VC's and we were able to select from four attractive opportunities, in spite of the depressed market. ViewPoint Capital Partners and 3i consortium proved to be the most convincing offers."
It was RedDot's ability to grow faster than the market average and still remain profitable in such a difficult market environment that especially impressed the potential investors - a clear indication that RedDot is well positioned in the market place. The new products are particularly promising, explained Metger, the RedDot Content Import Engine (CIE) and the RedDot Content Integration Server (CIS) implement complex, company-wide (enterprise) projects.
The deciding factor for ViewPoint Capital Partners, an international private equity company that specialize in software companies, was the high satisfaction reported by RedDot customers. "As part of the due diligence conducted, we questioned a significant number of customers in the US and Germany regarding product and service quality. We were very impressed with customer enthusiasm concerning RedDot and its close cooperation in the areas of service and support," reported Cees de Wit, Managing Director of Viewpoint.
3i, one of the world's leading venture capital investor companies, had already invested in RedDot in spring of 2001. "We also took part in this round because there are very few companies who have managed to do so well in such a difficult market environment. The most impressive aspect for us was that RedDot has been able to successfully expand into the US market, a feat that is especially difficult for German companies," said Olaf Bruns, Investment Manager of 3i. "There are few cases of successful expansions into the US by European software companies. It is all the more noteworthy therefore to see just how successful RedDot has been in penetrating the US market place, and that they were even able to post positive earnings," Bruns said.
