McDaniel College and Rider University Choose RedDot Web Content Management to Increase Application Submissions
18 Apr 2005
New York - RedDot Solutions, a leading global provider of enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, today announced that McDaniel College and Rider University have selected RedDot's content management software (CMS) to streamline the content published on their Web sites. The universities both selected RedDot for its easy-to-use software, to reduce the amount of time needed for content to be published online, gain more control of their brands, and provide university administrative staff and faculty with the ability to quickly and easily add, edit and manage content.
Rider University, with its two New Jersey campuses in Lawrenceville and Princeton, enrolls more than 5,500 graduate and undergraduate students. In selecting RedDot CMS, the university was ultimately looking to increase the number of applications submitted through its Web site, and position itself as a leader within the competitive Northeast region. In the first three months of installing RedDot, the institution realized significant gains, including:
A 5% increase on the number of inquiries from the new Web site;
An 8% increase on the number of student applications submitted through the site; and
A faster, more productive workflow granting authenticated access to authors and staff.
"In order to reach the goals set for the redesigned Web site, it is imperative that faculty and university staff are able to make changes to their content without having to go through significant training," said Tara Laposa, Director of Internet Projects at Rider University. " RedDot CMS allows for this, giving our students, faculty and staff a greater sense of ownership to their content."
Facing similar challenges, McDaniel College of Westminster, Maryland, unanimously selected RedDot Solutions for its user-friendly interface and minimal training requirements. The private liberal arts college, with an enrollment of 3,300 graduate and undergraduate students, will utilize RedDot CMS to create a more timely and interactive Web site for its many users. The new site will allow for large groups of people - including its students, faculty, administration staff and the surrounding community - to regularly access and publish content on the site, and use it as a communal forum of information.
"We needed a better way to manage our site; one that would centralize our content and allow for more faculty and administrators to publish to it," said Joyce Muller, associate vice president of communications and marketing for McDaniel College. "After involving everyone from the support staff to the faculty in the testing of products, RedDot was unanimously chosen for its functionality and ease-of-use…and unanimous agreement doesn't happen often in higher education."
"Institutions of higher education are a perfect example of how content management can greatly assist in managing, contributing and publishing information," said Detlef Kamps, president of RedDot Solutions. "As application processes, class registration and enrollment increasingly move online, universities of all shapes and sizes are looking for ways to streamline the flow of information so that everyone can have proper access to the tools they need."
